Have you ever felt lost in life? Perhaps you lost connection with yourself, maybe you lost purpose in your life. I think we all experience different types of “lost” feelings at times and in varying degrees. It is not something easy to overcome and some times hitting rock bottom is what helps to get you back on track.
When I came across Katherine Weed’s website, I instantly connected with her story because I too have felt lost and disconnected following tragic events. But chatting with her is what really got to me. She has experienced a lot in her life and some honestly may not have been able to overcome the obstacles she faced.
She is one of the main reasons why I created this podcast. To share inspiring real life stories, so that we can learn from each other and hopefully apply the lessons in our own lives. BUT to also encourage one another and let you know that you are not alone. We are all experiencing difficulties – you are not alone.
Often, I feel that when hard times come, people tend to shut down and withdraw from others. This is when you need your support system the most. But when that is not enough or the right support, we tend to forget that there is help out there!
It was so interesting to me when Katherine shared how she felt about therapy before going because I felt the same way. I didn’t need it. There wasn’t anything wrong with me. I wasn’t “that” broken that I needed to go see someone! I was even pretty offended if someone said it would help me to speak with someone. What I needed most was to be heard. To have my feelings validated. And to have an unbiased ear just listen. She, just like I, fell in love with therapy afterwards.
Katherine took charge of her life, learned many skills that helped her heal from her past but what is even more inspiring is that she now shares her knowledge and experience with her clients and helps them rediscover themselves and get back to living full happy lives.
I cannot wait for you to hear her story and hopefully see that there is always a lesson to be learned no matter the circumstance we are presented in life and it is possible to move forward in a positive way and grow as a person.
