Launching a business can be a daunting task. Trust me, I know. I wish I would have had mentorship in the initial stages as I made quite a few mistakes along the way.
First, choose a business name that people can pronounce. This was my first mistake. As much as I loved my initial name, it really crippled me. My audience had no idea how to pronounce it. To the point where my friends would need to pronounce it the way it sounds in English for people to know what I was saying. hahah woops…
Mentorship would have helped me determine my “why” and ensure I was crystal clear on why I was creating my business, what I was going to offer and who I was doing it for. I had NONE of this figured out. I mean I had an avatar, which really served no purpose without these key pieces. This caused me to flounder. Although my journey has led me to where I am today, I could have maybe figured this out a bit sooner, as I always had a feeling in my gut that something just didn’t feel right.
Mentorship would have taught me to create a community before launching officially and to bring my audience along for the ride – the ups and downs! This is brilliant in my mind. People want to feel included and a part of something. You create connections this way and that is what this is all about, isn’t it!
Honestly, I could continue to list all that I wish I would have known following this chat with Cassy. If there is one piece of advice I would have for my 33 year old self and for the aspiring entrepreneur today is to invest in mentorship. It will save you wasted time, money and effort trying to figure it out yourself. You will have the foundation you need to be successful. It will help you create your community and hype leading up to your launch. It will help you create your marketing strategy and yearly goals.
But most of all, it will give you someone in your corner, cheering you on, encouraging you, keeping you accountable, while also pushing you outside of your comfort zone. Think of what you will accomplish with this type of support.
So, get comfy, grab a notebook and a cup of organic tea and get ready to take lots of notes because Cassy, yet again, does not hold back!
