I am so excited to introduce myself and my little dream “REVUE BLANC” to you.
My name is Jessica Frigon (pronounced: free-gone). I am 34 years old, and was born in Longueuil, Québec. It’s on the other side of the river from Montréal. That being said, I am fully French Canadian with French being my first language. My family moved to Vancouver, BC when I was 4 years old, but my entire extended family continues to reside in Québec.
I’ve been in love with Weddings for as long as I can remember. When I was a child, I would run around the house/yard with a blanket on my head like a veil. I especially liked the look when I walked down the stairs with it trailing behind me so I did this over and over. HAHA This drove my mother nuts, as she would have to re-wash all the blankets – all the time.
I started planning weddings for friends over 10 years ago, and I loved it. I secretly get super excited over planning, checklists galore, organizational notebooks, excel, Smartsheet, post-its; you name it – so it was the right fit! I decided to start my own business and became certified by The Wedding Planners Institute of Canada. As the years went by, I gained experience planning corporate events, worked as a Wedding Coordinator for a prestigious golf course, and then narrowed down my services to a business called Trousso Thé that offered afternoon teas and boudoir photo sessions.
It all started about five years ago when I decided I wanted to eventually create an online space where I could feature wedding artwork that inspired me. I was in the middle of creating a series of styled shoots, and it hit me – I wanted to solely create and wanted to showcase other’s creative artworks. I knew it was a good idea because I didn’t care if I ever made a penny doing it because it was something I was so passionate about. When you are so passionate about something – find a way to turn it into something you can do everyday.
You’re probably thinking, 5 years.. that’s a long time ago. What took you so long?! Well, I went back and forth with doubts. But honestly no matter what other ideas came my way, I always ended up circling back to this idea. So, here we are! I’m biting the bullet with no expectations, aside from enjoying the moment and using this as my creative outlet.
My vision for REVUE BLANC is to introduce you to:
- A curated collection of wedding editorial and styled shoots that will inspire you
- Answers to all your wedding planning questions
- Exclusive spotlight interviews with the most exceptional and creative wedding artists
- Reviews of services and products through my personal experiences
Once in a while, you will also find an editorial shoot created by me. I can’t not join in on the fun too!
I have so many future plans, and ultimately want to be your go-to blog for recommendations and inspiration.
So let’s get to it.
Thank you for following me on this little journey…I hope you love it as much as I do!
