Pivot from a goal you accomplished? For me, this seems so difficult.
When I set a goal, it is something I truly want deep down. I work my ass off to achieve it and when I finally do accomplish my goal – the last thing I want to think about it is pivoting away from it.
My guest, Marissa Cristina, Founder of STIL had a goal of opening a storefront. Those that have opened stores know this is not an easy feat! She poured her heart into designing the space – which was a perfect reflection of her brand. It was a beautiful place to shop for organization products and it also included the cutest little seating area where you could chat with friends or work for a bit.
And then shortly following the opening of her store, the world changed. COVID has affected many people and many businesses. And it was incredibly heartbreaking when I saw she had made the decision to close her store, permanently.

She gives a prime example of how we should navigate a change required in our business. She made the decision quickly and within 3 weeks it was done. To me, that is not only incredibly fast but also so brave.
It is not easy to navigate the feelings that come to surface in situations like this. But what helped her was to focus all her energy into her online business, which was thriving.
I think we can all learn something from her experience.
